Jerry Seinfeld Has a Moka Pot

Jerry Seinfeld appeared on GQ1 recently to promote his new movie, Unfrosted. In the interview he talks about ten things he couldn't live without. One item is an Italian moka pot. He makes no attempt to explain how to use it, telling us instead:

It's quite complex. You gotta know what you're doing. It is time consuming. It's a great thing to waste time.

Wonderfully put!

I have a moka pot too. I got it at the Bialetti shop in Florence in 2019. I didn't know how to use it at the time and I bought it thinking it'd be little more than a decorative souvenir. In the end it's become a cherished belonging. Making coffee with my moka pot is a way to forget my worries2, even if only for a few minutes. As Seinfeld tells us, "the secret of life is wasting time in ways that you like."
